The West Coast region is proud to be a part of the nationwide REAL New Zealand Festival supporting Rugby World Cup 2011.
Famous for our whitebait and wildfoods the West Coast of the Southern Alps, Karamea to Haast, will be bringing you a West Coast Whitebait festival throughout the 6 weeks that the RWC 2011 and NZ festival will be held.
With stunning, world class scenery and warm local hospitality, this is a great opportunity to visit the West Coast during our whitebait season.
New Zealand whitebait is a delicacy (make sure you try the famous New Zealand whitebait pattie), so with the season coinciding with the Rugby World Cup 2011 and a range of events and activities on offer up and down the Coast, a visit to this beautiful region has to be high on your list!
