Kumara Race Meeting: Held at the Kumara Racing Track, the event features entertainment for the kids, music and good food. The Kumara Races is an annual event where people from all over the country come to watch the horses gallop for a day.

Speights Coast to Coast: One of the world's premier multi-sport events. Competitors race from Kumara Beach on the West Coast of New Zealand to Sumner Beach on the East Coast of New Zealand cycling, running and kayaking to traverse the South Island of New Zealand.
Buller Marathon: New Zealand's most scenic Marathon course. Great prizes and different levels of participation for all levels including full or half marthon, relay or social walk.

WildFoods Festival: A celebration of Hokitika and the wild foods of the West Coast.Taste some of the crazy concoctions from huhu grubs to venison tongue! Roving entertainment, bands, solo artists, mime, comedy, dancers and much, MUCH more to keep you entertained throughout the day and night.

Power Boat Regatta: Features the Kaniere Electric Cup and South Island Titles for Grand National, Mod VP and Formula V on Lake Kaniere.
Around Brunner Cycle Race: 130km sealed circuit cycle ride taking you through some of the most stunning scenery on the West Coast.

First Light Festival: Reefton is known as the “town of light” and was the first place in New Zealand to get street lighting, which is celebrated in this festival.

Greymouth Motorcycle Street Race: The race held every labour weekend runs through the streets of the central business district of Greymouth, on a tight 1.3km circuit and is 8 hours of non stop action.
