NORTHERN WEST COAST WEEKENDER
Archer House offers its customers the perfect Northern West Coast Weekender. Arrive Christchurch Airport, pick up and stay first night at the Pavilions, breakfast included.
Day one - transfer from hotel to TranzAlpine train 8am, traverse the Great Southern Alps in comfort, pick up Greymouth 1pm, with a Hertz Rental vehicle and personal guide.
We will travel the Great West Coast road to Westport, visiting the famous Pancake Rocks and Blowholes, the historic gold mining town of Charleston and a visit to the Tauranga Bay Seal Colony, before spending your next 2 nights at Archer House, a home built in 1890 by the prosperous trader Robert Taylor, and now lovingly restored by the present owner Paul Archer.
Archer House has 3 large bedrooms, all with Queen Size double beds, with a single bed in the Red and Green Rooms. All rooms have modern ensuites; three large lounges complement this magnificent home with free Wifi, Sky TV, and use of laundry and full kitchen facilities.
Be pampered with a complementary Continental styled breakfast with fresh baked muffins or fresh cooked eggs to your liking. Evening meals (your own cost) can be arranged for your convenience at Archer House or you can experience many of Westport’s fine restaurants.
Day 2 - we will personally drive you to visit the historic coal mining town of Denniston and the beautiful Oparara Valley at Karamea before returning you back to Archer House for the night. Day 3 - you will be driven back to Christchurch via the Lewis Pass, with a visit to the historic gold mining town of Reefton and the hot pools at Hanmer, before dropping you off at the airport for a late flight home.
Duration: Allow Three Days
Group Size: Minimum 2 people sharing a twin room; to a maximum of 6 people sharing 2 rooms with double and single beds, and a room with only one double bed.
