Employment in the West Coast continues to be above the national average. The Labour Market reports, from the Department of Labour, survey employment quarterly across the country and on the West Coast.

As part of the West Coast indicators 2009, from BERL economics, the number of benefit recipients in the West Coast region are identifed.  Table 8.1 summarises the main labour market indicators discussed in this section.
